HyperCam – 6,000 m Underwater Hyperspectral Imaging Camera

The HyperCam is the only commercially available hyperspectral camera engineered for full-ocean-depth (6,000 m) operations and real-time AI analysis at survey speed, with a patent pending, variable-temperature lighting system.

While conventional cameras only show you what the seafloor looks like, the HyperCam reveals what it is actually made of. Every pixel carries a complete spectral fingerprint from 400 to 2500 nm letting embedded AI classify polymetallic nodules, cobalt-rich crusts, sulfides, rare-earth muds, and chemical pollutants with >95 % accuracy — instantly, on the vehicle, without ever touching the bottom.

Key advantages in one compact, pressure-tolerant module:

  • True hyperspectral (490 bands, 5 nm resolution) — not multispectral
  • Real-time mineral and habitat maps streamed to the surface while you tow or fly at 3–4 knots
  • Zero post-processing delay — results are ready the moment you recover the vehicle
  • Non-invasive with only minimal actual sampling and retrieval
  • Seamless integration on ROVs, AUVs, tow sleds, and manned submersibles
